About EFL in Malta: Learning English as a foreign Language
Over the past 15 years Malta has established itself as one of the primary destinations for Learning English as a foreign Language. The growth of the industry has been reflected in the quantity and quality of English language Schools in Malta (and recently Gozo).

In 2007 over 86,000 students visited Malta to study English, and it is estimated
that the growth rate of students is between 10 and 15% a year.
The industry is carefully monitored at several levels with the organization
FELTOM at the forefront of controlling the quality of English Language Schools
in Malta as well as teacher qualifications to ensure that the industry level
competes easily on an international scale.

The continuous growth of the EFL industry in Malta is not soley due to the excellent standards set by both the Schools and monitoring bodies but also due to the fact that Malta benefits from its geographical proximity to Central and Eastern Europe, being part of the Euro Zone, its amazing climate, culture and perhaps as important its high standard of saftey and security.
